Not a lot has happened, Christmas has come and passed. It was quite a lovely Christmas. But something about it just didn't feel like Christmas. It was Erie almost. It is the time of family, and cheer. But what if the family member never shows up? What then? It was just a sore absence. Although, it was very fun and I still got to enjoy my family, the lights, gift giving, and the remembrance of Christ.
Wow. 2012.
A clean slate. 2011 was just a blur. I can not even explain to you how strange of a year it was, and I am glad it is over. I don't even want to write about it at this moment, maybe in my next post.
I have so much optimism for this year. It is my year. It is going to punch 2011 in the face. I have some goals I would like to share with you:
-Be more positive, smile more.
-Tell my family and friends I love and appreciate them as much as possible.
-Be more thoughtful. For example, give a call to a person I care about just to tell them I care about them.
-Try to make someones day, everyday. Even if it is a smile.
-Push myself out of my comfort zone and introduce myself to someone new.
-Gain a stronger testimony.
-Try to be myself despite the pressures of others and...myself.
-Be more organized.
Now for my horse goals (Horses are a category on their own):
-Push myself and Vinnie to the best we can be.
-Pour my heart and soul into every class I go into even more so than I usually do.
-Remember at the shows to just go and sit with my horse. Breath a little and tell him I love him.
-Get ripped core strength before youth for equitation. Haha..
-Top ten with my horse. I will cry just you wait. -Make it to finals in Eq again.
-Go to region two.
-Listen and watch everything and everyone I can to learn all I can.
Yes. I am quite excited. Although, I must not be disappointed if one of these goals doesn't happen the first time. But you can be sure I am going to try even harder for the second.
But I know for my horse related goals, that I am not alone. I have the heart of a champion beneath me and beside me. He won't let me fall. I have come to believe that he and my guardian angel have conversations and have a plan. It astounds me every time I look into those soft, big, expressive eyes the love and dedication I see staring back at me. So why would I not try as hard as my noble steed? That's right. We are ready. Always learning and progressing, but ready.
I'M GOING TO BE 17 TOMORROW. Whoa.
It's almost time to start growing up. I can already feel the steady pressure grow. The expectation level shot up and I can't seem to catch up quite yet. But all I can do is work towards it. Sometimes I just get overwhelmed at the thought of what seems to be the near future. ACT, College applications, job searching, money handling..it is all coming at a fast pace. I know it is the minimal stress level right now too..I just have to adjust. It will all be okay.
Well I have to tell you the first out of comfort zone act of mine... yesterday I asked a guy to Girl's Pref. The dance is on Saturday. Yes three days. My wonderful friends told me I had to come or they were going to ask someone for me. So the idea was born in 3rd period and carried out in 4th period (Sorry Brother Johnson. I Still came to seminary!) I thought to myself "What the heck."
But this is no ordinary boy. Tisi Tuifua. Football player, SBO, tall dark and handsome. I shouldn't potray that he is better or more special than anyone else..but in my mind he is like the holy grail of guys. Haha. SO I asked him. Basically I didn't step out of my box, I dived off a cliff. Big step for me personally. I'm pretty excited!!Well, thanks for taking a look at my not thought out thoughts. I hope you have a wonderful day and a AWESOME year. If I were to give any advice at all, it would be don't take anything for granted. Love everyone you can and don't look back.
I love you all. So very much.
